Data Centre Shift Leader – Critical Environment – London
Our client, a leading provider of integrated technical and facilities management services, is seeking an experienced Data Centre Shift Leader to oversee operations in a mission-critical environment. This leadership role is central to ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant management of critical infrastructure across a high-availability data centre.
The Role
The Shift Leader will supervise an on-site engineering team, manage daily operations, and ensure compliance with technical and safety standards. The role requires significant expertise in both mechanical and electrical systems, with responsibility for high-voltage operations as an Authorised Person.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and oversee all M&E systems, including HV electrical isolations.
- Manage subcontractors, ensuring compliance with permits and procedures.
- Review risk assessments, SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs.
- Deliver accurate shift handovers and incident reporting.
- Supervise planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Provide line management, training, and mentoring for shift engineers.
- Manage tools, PPE, and plantroom standards.
- Promote QHSE compliance and continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in critical environments (data centres preferred).
- AP15 HV Authorised Person and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
- Mechanical qualifications or proven mechanical knowledge.
- Supervisory and subcontractor management experience.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Flexible, commercially aware, and highly organised.
Desirable:
- IOSH/NEBOSH, First Aid, LVAP, AP14.
