Location: Itasca, IL
Schedule: 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (significant overtime available)
Compensation: $19–$21 per hour
Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months)

Overview

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Stock Room Associate to join its parts department following an internal promotion. This role is essential to supporting machine-building operations and ensuring production teams receive the components they need to stay on schedule.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing a high volume of parts in a fast-paced environment. This position offers long-term growth potential, overtime opportunities, and exposure to a rapidly expanding business driven by strong project demand—including large-scale data center builds.

This organization operates multiple business units focused on manufacturing specialized equipment for industries such as asphalt roofing, telecommunications, construction, power, coil processing, and medical applications. They also produce custom industrial equipment and data center solutions.

The company has been in operation for over 100 years and is experiencing major growth, driven by significant new contracts—including large-scale data center builds for major global technology companies. They are expanding facilities, increasing production capacity, and adding additional headcount to meet demand.

Responsibilities

The Stock Room Associate will support manufacturing by ensuring that all materials and components are accurately received, labeled, stored, and delivered to the production floor.

Daily Responsibilities Include:

  • Receiving incoming parts, including both purchased components and machined items
  • Verifying part numbers, quantities, and supporting documentation
  • Labeling, organizing, and storing items in their designated inventory locations
  • Maintaining accurate stock records using Excel and Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Assisting production teams by locating and delivering parts as needed
  • Supporting machine-building by ensuring timely availability of components
  • Maintaining a clean, orderly, and well-organized stockroom environment
  • Working closely with the parts department lead and production supervisors
  • Participating in occasional overtime as required by production demands

Required Experience & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1–3+ years of experience as a stocker, stockroom associate, or similar role
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with large inventories
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Willingness to work contract-to-hire and significant overtime

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with OEMs, machine builders, or companies producing custom equipment
  • Experience organizing and tracking a high volume of custom parts
  • Strong computer skills including Outlook, ERP systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (major plus)
