Fixed Asset Accountant

Our client, a global leader in the development and operation of high-performance data centres, is seeking an experienced Fixed Asset Accountant to manage and oversee the fixed asset register across a rapidly expanding international portfolio. This role will play an important part in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in the management of fixed assets while supporting the organisation’s continued global growth.

 

The Role

The Fixed Asset Accountant will take ownership of the fixed asset lifecycle, from acquisitions and disposals through to reconciliation, reporting, and audit support. The successful candidate will ensure records are accurate and up to date, depreciation is calculated correctly, and compliance is maintained with relevant accounting standards. This individual will work closely with finance colleagues, auditors, and operations teams, providing reliable reporting and process improvements in a fast-paced international environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate tracking.
  • Record acquisitions, disposals, and calculate depreciation in line with standards.
  • Perform cycle counts, reconciliations, and fixed asset reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset schedules and reports.
  • Support internal and external audits of fixed assets.
  • Develop and implement fixed asset accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Assist with broader accounting and finance responsibilities as required.

 

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in fixed asset accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and fixed asset processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with fixed asset software preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel across regional data centre sites.
