Key job responsibilities
Launch - Amazon’s corporate MBA program for Europe, offers an eight- to ten-week , providing you with deep exposure to one of our diverse European business areas. As a Launch , you will partner with key business groups and cross-functional teams to analyse unique business ideas, make data driven decisions, and provide input to drive meaningful change. You will have exposure to senior level management and the opportunity to apply general business and functional skills to support successful development and execution of strategy. Interns will be allocated either a project, where you will act as an in-house consultant on a piece of work with tangible business impact, or a functional role, where you will experience the day-to-day life of a full-time Launch MBA at Amazon.
Should you be successful in your , you will be considered for a place on our full-time launch program. Launch recruits top MBA international talent and builds broad, adaptable Amazonians across corporate businesses in Europe. The program provides a platform for MBAs to make the successful transition from their pre-MBA experience to Amazon. We run a three-year program offering two job rotations supported through on-boarding activities, core training modules, networking opportunities, and mentorship. Launch MBAs start by diving deep to understand customers and how the business is meeting their needs, then apply the learning from their MBA and their own creativity, to identify the opportunities where they can make the biggest difference. At the end of the three-year program, MBAs have integrated into Amazon’s peculiar ways and have acquired a diverse set of experience that enable them to take ownership of their next career move through Amazon’s extensive internal job opportunities. Through the rotation process, MBAs are able to move to a new function, business, and/or European location.
A day in the life
Opportunities within different business areas (for both and full-time roles) vary each year, and can include: Advertising, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon Prime Video, Consumer and Devices/Alexa.
If you join Amazon in a full-time role after your , example job functions include:
• Sr. Business Development Manager: Partners with business leaders to grow the business by creating new partnerships, leveraging existing relationships, and/or licensing assets to drive product improvements and innovation, enable distribution of our application, products and/or services, and reduce costs without sacrificing the customer experience.
• Sr. Category Merchant Manager: Manage the portfolio of third-party merchant accounts, support revenue growth and traffic, conduct regular intensive business analysis and reporting, and support the development of the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) program, and manage projects working with our technology teams to build an extraordinary customer experience.
• Sr. Instock Manager: Develop and execute inventory management strategies (including forecasting, capacity planning, and supply chain optimization), determine how to allocate resources for variable cost reduction and profit margin improvement to drive overall profitability for the business unit.
• Sr. Marketing Manager: Develop and execute strategies for growing the size and lifetime value of the business unit’s customer base, through both acquisition and CRM strategies for targeting and communicating with customers.
• Sr. Product Manager: Support the definition and launch of new products, services, or features in partnership with technical teams. Evaluate the existing experience(s) for customers on and off Amazon, identify areas for improvement, develop business requirements, craft and implement marketing plans, and own measures of success.
• Sr. Program Manager: Find solutions to complex problems and innovate on leading edge solutions to manage programs broadly across businesses within Amazon. Given responsibility to own those business challenges and the autonomy to think strategically and make data driven decisions. Drive efforts independently and as part of larger project teams, and have a significant impact on the customer experience and the business.
• Sr. Vendor Manager: Identify new brand and product business opportunities, manage relationships with key vendors, negotiate competitive business terms, and secure participation in promotions and marketing programs.
