Project Controls Professional I-III - Nuclear Projects

We are hiring a Project Controls Professional to support project controls, cost tracking, scheduling, forecasting, and performance reporting for nuclear project work in Richland, WA. This posting is open to candidates at Level I, II, or III, with final level and pay based on experience, technical depth, and client approval.

The best fit has project controls experience in nuclear, utility, power , industrial, manufacturing, data center, renewables, or other complex project environments, with strong Primavera P6, EVM, cost control, forecasting, and variance-analysis skills.

Location: Richland, WA

Schedule: 4x10s, Monday-Thursday

Work Setting: 100% onsite

Pay Rate: $54-$108/hr, depending on level, experience, and client approval

Washington State paid sick leave applies. Employees accrue a minimum of 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked, which equals approximately 52 hours, or 6.5 eight-hour days, per full 2,080-hour work year.

Responsibilities

  • Support project controls activities for nuclear capital, O&M, and development project work.
  • Develop, update, and maintain Primavera P6 schedules, including Level 1-4 implementation schedules.
  • Support cost baseline development, budget tracking, cost flow projections, and forecasting.
  • Apply Earned Value Management methodology to monitor project performance.
  • Prepare budget-to-actual reporting, variance analysis, reconciliations, forecasts, and project summaries.
  • Identify cost, schedule, scope, risk, and contingency impacts and communicate them clearly to project managers and leadership.
  • Partner with project managers on scope planning, detailed schedules, cost estimates, control activities, and corrective action planning.
  • Process or support financial system journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and month-end/year-end project controls activities.
  • Maintain project documentation, change management records, schedule configuration control, and reporting accuracy.
  • Use system-generated reports and ad hoc analysis to identify trends, explain variances, and support recovery plans.
  • Facilitate or support project status reviews, challenge meetings, approval meetings, safety meetings, and regular PM touchpoints.
  • Support continuous improvement, lessons learned, desk manuals, training tools, and project controls process improvements.
  • For senior-level candidates, provide independent recommendations, mentor junior staff, and influence project execution strategy.

Qualifications

  • Level I/II: Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of project controls or project management experience in an industrial environment; OR associate degree and 6+ years; OR high school diploma/GED and 8+ years.
  • Level III: Bachelor's degree and 6-10 years of relevant experience; OR associate degree and 12+ years; OR high school diploma/GED and 14+ years.
  • Formal training in Primavera P6 or another project management system required.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management, cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and project reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project management principles.
  • Ability to work independently, organize complex information, communicate with project managers and leadership, and support projects in a structured, compliance-driven environment.
  • Experience in nuclear, utility, power , renewables, heavy industrial, data center, manufacturing, production, or large capital-project environments.

Qualifications

  • Commercial nuclear power plant experience.
  • Experience supporting large, complex projects with budgets of $25M+.
  • Experience with Power BI, Asset Suite, Workday Adaptive Planning, Workday, Microsoft Project, GAAP/GASB principles, net billing agreements, or financial reporting.
  • PMP, CCP, CAPM, PMI-SP, PMI-PBA, PMI-RMP, or other EVM/project management certification.
  • Experience supporting process improvement, project recovery, senior-leadership reporting, or junior-staff mentoring.
