Our client, a global provider of data centre and critical environment services, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented DCS Improver to join their team in Croydon. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mission-critical environments while following a structured personal development plan and training pathway.

 

The Role

The DCS Improver will support the on-site shift team, assisting with operational activities, maintenance tasks, and compliance monitoring across data centres in Croydon, Heathrow, and Slough. Reporting to the DCS Manager and taking daily direction from Shift Leaders and Technicians, the successful candidate will be expected to follow all training programmes, contribute to service delivery against client expectations, and maintain high standards of professionalism, safety, and compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the DCS Shift Team with day-to-day operations and tasks.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and compliance requirements at all times.
  • Escalate issues or incidents promptly to the DCS Manager.
  • Ensure all tasks meet client service standards and SLA requirements.
  • Monitor and respond to alarms, job queues, and Service Now requests.
  • Ensure correct use of change requests, permits, and approval processes.
  • Accurately record and submit timecards, expenses, and reports within deadlines.
  • Support the team in managing site-specific monitoring tools (BMS, SCADA, Ignition, Vigilant, Hawki).
  • Promote a professional image and uphold company standards at all times.

  • Flexible to work rotating day and night shifts after training.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally between sites (Heathrow and Slough).
