Project Manager – M&E, Data Centre Projects - Bangkok

Our client, a leading global organisation in the data centre and critical infrastructure sector, is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager – Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of all M&E works within major construction projects. This senior role encompasses HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, fire protection, and other essential building services, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

The Role

The Project Manager – M&E will be accountable for managing the full lifecycle of M&E project works, from design and procurement through to handover and commissioning. Working in close coordination with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders, this individual will ensure seamless integration of all M&E systems within data centre facilities. The role requires proven leadership in managing complex technical projects and a strong track record of delivering large-scale M&E works in highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full lifecycle of M&E works, from planning and execution to commissioning and handover.
• Manage budgets, contracts, and financial reporting for M&E packages, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to project plans.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and authorities to ensure compliance with design, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Supervise installation of HVAC, power distribution, fire protection, and critical systems, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
• Lead risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication across all M&E activities.
• Ensure safety standards, permitting, and statutory requirements are strictly observed on-site.
• Drive quality assurance, testing, and commissioning processes, including Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
• Champion continuous improvement and best practices in M&E project delivery.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction project management with a focus on M&E.
• Proven track record in delivering large-scale M&E projects; experience in data centre projects strongly preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical power systems, and fire protection.
• Expertise in CAPEX planning, cost estimation, and total cost of ownership (TCO) for data centre M&E systems.
• Skilled in project management tools, MS Project, and MS Office.
• Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Fluent in English; additional APAC languages an advantage.
