Projects Permit Coordinator

Our client, a global leader in data centre and critical environment services, is seeking a highly organised Projects Permit Coordinator to join their team in London. This role is central to ensuring the safe and efficient management of permit-to-work processes across a business-critical environment.

 

Role Overview

The Projects Permit Coordinator will be responsible for the effective operation, administration, and compliance of permit-to-work systems on a major data centre campus. The successful candidate will work closely with project delivery teams, client operations, and on-site engineering teams to ensure all works are planned, coordinated, and delivered safely and efficiently.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and oversee the Permit to Work (PTW) system, ensuring full compliance with approval chains and timely permit processing.
  • Maintain accurate contractor attendance records, permit statistics, and associated documentation, ensuring readiness for client audits.
  • Liaise with shift teams, management, and client operations to coordinate works effectively.
  • Prepare and review Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for enabling works, mechanical and electrical surveys, and system isolations.
  • Support safe systems of work, risk mitigation processes, and compliance with client and statutory requirements.

 

Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within Facilities Management or building services, including at least 1 year in a construction environment.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a data centre or critical environment, with solid knowledge of SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and compliance frameworks.
  • Recognised qualification to at least City & Guilds Level 3, BTEC, ONC, or HNC in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • High Voltage industry training/certification.
  • Experience working with permit-to-work systems and high-risk permits

 

Desirable:

  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • City & Guilds in Business Administration.
  • Familiarity with risk management platforms (e.g., Quantum, CERM).
