Our client, a leading developer and operator of high-performance data centres across Asia, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Commissioning Manager to lead the end-to-end commissioning process for large-scale, mission-critical projects. This pivotal role ensures the successful delivery of complex facilities that meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance.
The Role
The Senior Commissioning Manager will take ownership of commissioning strategy, planning, and execution across hyperscale and enterprise data centre builds. Leading multi-disciplinary teams, this individual will oversee testing, validation, and integration of all critical systems to guarantee seamless handover to operations and clients. The role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proven track record in delivering commissioning programmes for mission-critical facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and own commissioning plans, schedules, budgets, and acceptance criteria.
- Define and oversee all commissioning phases (FAT/FWT, SAT, IST) in line with industry standards and client expectations.
- Lead and mentor commissioning teams, coordinating with internal stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and clients.
- Provide technical oversight across critical systems:
- Electrical – HV/MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, ATS, PDU, SCADA/EPMS.
- Mechanical – chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers, pumps, water treatment, HVAC controls.
- Control Systems – BMS, EPMS, BAS integration, SOO validation.
- Fire & Security – fire detection, suppression, alarms, CCTV, access control.
- ICT – structured cabling, PDUs, and readiness checks.
- Drive quality assurance and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety protocols.
- Lead issue resolution, NCR closures, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee commissioning documentation, handover packages, and training materials.
- Serve as the main client interface for commissioning, delivering clear progress reporting and managing expectations.
- Champion safety culture, particularly during live testing and energisation.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Construction Management; advanced degree or certifications (CxA, PMP, PE) advantageous.
- 10–15 years of commissioning experience, with at least 5 years in large-scale data centre environments.
- Proven expertise across electrical, mechanical, BMS/EPMS, and fire/life safety systems.
- Strong understanding of Tier standards, redundancy models (N, N+1, 2N), and operational requirements.
- Track record of delivering full commissioning lifecycles on complex projects (hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise).
- Certifications such as CxA, PMP, CDCDP, OSHA 30 or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
