Testing & Commissioning Lead

Our client, a global leader in the data centre and critical infrastructure sector, is seeking a talented Testing & Commissioning Lead to manage and deliver the testing and commissioning of large-scale data centre facilities across the region. This role combines technical leadership, client engagement, and project oversight, ensuring all systems are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

The Role

The Testing & Commissioning Lead will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of testing and commissioning activities, from strategy development through to site execution and client handover. This individual will manage and guide a team of engineers and technicians, working closely with project managers, construction teams, and clients to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery. The successful candidate will act as the primary client contact during the commissioning phase, resolving technical issues and driving customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of commissioning engineers and technicians, providing technical direction and support.
• Support the development and implementation of testing and commissioning strategies in alignment with regional objectives.
• Oversee all testing and commissioning phases across multiple data centre projects, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance.
• Collaborate with project & construction teams, and clients to maintain schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Conduct regular site inspections during construction.
• Ensure adherence to protocols, industry standards, and client requirements.
• Review and approve test plans, reports, and commissioning documentation.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients during commissioning, addressing and resolving complex technical issues.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in data centre testing, commissioning, and operations.
• Strong knowledge of data centre infrastructure including HVAC, power systems, and network operations.
• Proficiency in commissioning software, tools, and methodologies.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and stakeholder engagement.
• Relevant certifications in procurement, supply chain, or contract management (e.g., CPM, CSCP) advantageous.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Flexibility to travel within the region as required.
