Shift Manager

Our client, a leading developer and operator of high-performance data centres across Asia Pacific, is seeking an experienced Shift Manager to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of mission-critical facilities. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing operations teams, overseeing system performance, and ensuring compliance with established procedures in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Critical Services Manager, the Shift Manager will oversee daily operations, equipment inspections, and system performance analysis while ensuring smooth handovers and effective incident management. The role will also involve training shift teams, verifying compliance with SOPs/EOPs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across operations. While this is not a rotating shift role, occasional out-of-hours coverage and response will be required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the shift team to maintain reliable operations.
  • Review and validate equipment inspections, operational data, and shift handover reports.
  • Analyse system interfaces (BMS, BA, HV monitoring, PDA, DC management systems) and recommend improvements.
  • Lead training programmes and verify compliance with SOPs and EOPs.
  • Oversee incident reporting, analysis, and knowledge-sharing of emergency handling solutions.

 

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Automation, Refrigeration, or related field.
  • Valid high- and low-voltage operation and air-conditioning operation certificates.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in data centre operations and maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with UPS, generators, chillers, and power distribution systems.
  • Strong knowledge of fire protection systems and emergency procedures.
  • Skilled in fault diagnosis and incident response.
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and committed to high standards.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and training capabilities.
  • Proficient in computer systems and operational tools.
